ABOUT THE PROJECT
How can a brand identity speak for a diverse group of people?
By highlighting on what unites them.
Through the use of pan-African colors, and typography inspired by printed signs of the Civil Rights Movement, the brand identity of the Black Jewish Liberation Collective both harkens back to an activist legacy while creating a bright canvas for expression of a positive future.
The wordmark uses Bayard, a typeface described by its designer Tré Seals as “a unique sans-serif typeface inspired by signs from the 1963 March On Washington For Jobs and Freedom.” The symbolic colors of gold, green and yellow serve to underline the words in an insistent and meaningful, way.
